Windows Channels for Communication is a joint Israeli-Palestinian organization that works with young people in dialogue projects that work towards a future based on human rights, liberty, dignity, equality and democracy. They believe in the ability of individuals to create change, and in the power of joint, grassroots Palestinian-Israeli efforts to achieve these ideals.
The work is unique in its set up, as Windows works through a “triangle” framework with equal representation of Palestinians from the Occupied Territories (West Bank), Jewish Israelis from Tel Aviv, and Palestinian citizens of Israel from Jaffa. The young participants are encouraged to become young leaders in their community, to spread accurate information about each other, to raise questions, to promote critical discourse, and to encourage action.
This collaboration involved developing and executing a year long video program. The program offered them new skills to use in their activism and together we developed ideas for films and produced them.
